Selangor, 27 December 2024: The MTC Youth Circle Committee (MYCC) brought together 21 emerging leaders from the timber industry for an intensive two-day Brainstorming Retreat at Monkeys Canopy with the theme “Getting the Perspectives and Ideas Right and New Entrepreneurs in the Timber Industry”.

The retreat was held in Sungai Long from 20 to 21 December 2024 under the expert guidance of Mr. Wong Kah Cane, Lead Consultant of SamakitaHealthy Living Sdn Bhd.

The Retreat focused on business transformation strategies, strategic leadership development and innovative business modelling. This provided a valuable platform for young leaders to gain insights into the Malaysian Timber Industry Roadmap (MTIR) developed by MTA.

One of the highlights of the event was a high-level networking dinner with key representatives from Malaysian Timber Association, including its chairman, Mr. George Yap and Chairman of Malaysian Wood Moulding and Joinery Council (MWMJC) Mr. Ng Boon Kuan.

Also present were MTC CEO Madam Noraihan Abdul Rahman and Deputy CEO Mr. Mokthar Mohd Yaacob. Initiated in 2023, the MYCC was formed to create a networking platform for sharing insights and exchange of ideas among the young and future leaders of timber companies aged 18 to 40.
